The studio redesign and redecoration is now complete. The studio is now much
more colorful and comfortable even than before. The computers are all ether-netted
together, which makes the transfer of files and projects much quicker and easier.
Track-lighting makes the "feel" much better, also! We recently sold some drum
gear (an old CB7 five piece drum set, rack gear, etc.) which has opened up some
additional floor space for both recording and for CD/DVD assembly, as needed. We also
added a couple of Audio Technica AT4050 large diaphram condenser mics to the
collection.
The new system of video monitoring and color correction has also now been
installed and is up and running. Sony Vegas has the capacity to send a monitor signal
to a second monitor via FireWire, and we now have that monitor up and running
for editing and color correction on a flatscreen Maganvox monitor.
ProTools continues to be the studio program-of-choice, and I am very pleased
with the quality of audio production and editing which ProTools enables. Our SEK'D
audio program, Samplitude 2496, has been redesigned and reissued by Magix.
Our use of ProTools offers the ability to easily work with or to send sessions to other studios.
We have several recording projects which have recently been completed, including recent
concerts of the Tivy High School Bands and Jazz Ensembles.
Every year, CCCDs records and videotapes the Summer Strings Closing Concert at the University of Texas at Arlington. The 5.1 Surround Sound DVD of the concert is a
joy to watch. There were about 250 orders placed at this year's concert for both DVDs
and CDs. Lorye Carter-Reed has scheduled a videotaping session of an upcoming concert, and she continues to contact CCCDs for additional orders of CDs. The classical guitar recording (classical guitar duet augmented by background music composed and recorded by Adrian
Siller continues to see additional copies ordered. The Caliche Hille bluegrass quintet music
recorded a second CD with CCCDs in 2007, and their CDs are now available. We are currently recording, mixing, and mastering four demo songs with Elaine Derby, a wonderfully talented vocalist and composer from Kerrville. In addition, we have been visiting with both Bandera Helping Hand and the Medina Children's Home to revise their promotional recordings and videos into DVD format for their use. Region IV Choirs has contacted us about recording and videotaping for them
again this year. We plan on continuing our work with Regions IV, V, and XIV - and possibly
adding one more region this year.
CCCDs takes on about one new project per month, and these projects include regular recording and videotaping for High School All-Region Honor Groups as well as regular projects in the Medina-Kerrville-San Antonio areas. CCCDs has openings to record or videotape about four additional concert recordings in 20082009, and we are looking for bookings in the San Antonio, Austin, Kerrville, Boerne, Hondo, and Uvalde areas for schools or for All-Region concerts.
Please drop us a line! We'd love to hear from you!
