Audio Recording is what got us started here at Concert Capture CDs!
We record using the very best of concert microphones and digital, multi-track recording equipment.
When recording a location concert (for instance, a choir concert or band concert), there are three very tall microphone poles which hold an array of professional microphones about 15-20 feet above the stage (either Decca Tree using omni mics or ORTF pair with wing mics and audience ambient mics). These microphones send their signal to a bank of Focusrite and MOTU digital preamps which then record to a 24 track digital recorder. A Carvin 32-track mixer is used to generate a back-up mix for a DAT recorder and to monitor the signal through headphones.
When recording a complex concert requiring individual mic-ing of instruments (for instance, a jazz band ensemble or a rock band performance), we have used up to 24 mics simultaneously - recorded into up to 32 separate digital tracks. During the concert, our gear is set up in an unobtrusive location, and it is our goal to as invisible as possible during your concert. The personnel we send to record your concert are friendly, professional, and helpful.
Editing, mixing, and mastering are done at the studio in Shallowater, Texas. We use ProTools, Magix Samplitude, Sony SoundForge. and Sony Vegas - plus we have a suite of signal processing hardware and software.
The finished product is recorded to CD or DVD and is ready for duplication.
Manufacturing is normally handled at the studio as well. We burn to Taiyo-Yuden CD/DVD blanks, we print labels directly on the CDs/DVDs, print case inserts, mount in crystal cases, and shrink-wrap.
Our audio orders have ranged in size from 1 CD to over 200.
